Research, design, development and testing of applications of appropriate technology to problems in the developing world. Currently focused on improved cook stoves, especially rocket stoves. Aprovecho formed a partnership in 2008 with Shengzhou Stove Manufacturer to build Aprovecho-designed rocket stoves in China. The partnership won the 2009 International Ashden Award, presented by Prince Charles, recognizing their achievement.
