The Association québécoise des consommateurs industriels d’électricité (AQCIE) has represented the interests of Québec’s largest industrial companies subject to Hydro-Québec rates for more than 40 years, advocating for competitive energy costs and demonstrating how electricity-intensive businesses contribute to regional economic development across the province. An authority on energy-related issues, l’AQCIE is also an unmatched network of the largest industrial electricity consumers in Québec operating in numerous sectors of the economy: in agribusiness, aluminum, petrochemicals, pulp and paper, as well as primary metal, chemical and non-metallic mineral product manufacturing. In Québec, the industrial sector accounts for a third of the electricity sold by Hydro-Québec.
