Arakan Creative

Arakan Creative is the first Islamic theatre company in Bradford and the North of England. Established in 2009 by actor/writer Conor Ibrahiem, Arakan is a testament to his dream: to combine his passion for the arts with his faith. Through theatre he aims to breathe new life into the rich and diverse Islamic stories, both historical and contemporary. Its history is bursting with narratives that highlight good practice, moral values and positive role models. In addition, Arakan specialises in capturing the voices of the South-Asian community and challenge cultural practices that damage prosperity. Education is the third area of Arakan’s reach, delivering creatively on the curriculum through theatre, Creative Partnerships and bespoke workshops. We are also open to bespoke commissions for those wishing to use theatre as a new way of reaching out to its audience, and also as an alternative tool to introduce better practice in the workplace or platform research findings.
