About Arawayuu: Born in San Diego and crafted in Colombia, Arawayuu’s mission is to share the traditions and talents of the Wayuu tribe’s female artisans while empowering this indigenous community in the northeast region of La Guajira in Colombia. Founded by Maria Salazar, a jewelry enthusiast with a background in social media and public relations, Arawayuu offers vibrant Mochila bags and clutches handwoven by Wayuu artisans as well as leather chokers and tassel earrings designed by Salazar.
