Arax is a free GNU/Linux operating system distribution. It designed by taking into consideration the following points:* promote active usage of the free software usage in the region.* Armenian, Persian, Georgian, and other localizations out of the box * no technical or legal ways to prevent redistribution of Arax.* maximal amount of supported kernel components like file system drivers, samba, slip, etc * speed. Arax is fast (BFS scheduler, lzma compression of the kernel, parallel startup of the services, cpu optimizations)* minimal number of startup services * exciting multimedia support * most of wireless cards work out of the box * wide set of console tools * localizations - interface languages, network manager patches, spell checks, dictionaries * own package management, compatible with Gentoo's portage and similar to Debian CLI tools.
