Arc Greater Mid Cities

Arc Greater Mid Cities, an all volunteer organization, is an affiliated chapter of The Arc of the United States and The Arc of Texas. MISSION - Arc Greater Mid Cities empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to live life as they define it through advocacy, awareness, training and support. VISION - Arc Greater Mid Cities envisions an inclusive society where people with intellectual and development disabilities live self-determined lives. WHO WE SERVE — Arc GMC serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families and the community. In 2016 Arc GMC maintained a data base of over 1900 people to whom we provided information and support. FUNDING ― Arc GMC is funded through grants, donations and fundraising. HISTORY ― Arc GMC was established in 1971 by a group of parents who joined forces to advocate for their children’s right to be educated in the public school system. The Arc of today still serves as a voice in the local, state and national community.
