The Arcata Fire District is a mostly career organization protecting residents living amongst industrial, commercial, residential, agricultural, coastal and Wildland Urban Interface areas. We are located on the remote and isolated coast of Northern California and protect the City of Arcata, the communities of McKinleyville, Bayside, Manila, Jacoby Creek, and other rural areas for a total service area of 62 square miles. We exist next to the Cascadia Subduction Zone- a seismically active area- which makes our Fire District vulnerable to significant earthquakes resulting in possible fires and natural disasters.
