Arctic Wind Riders

Arctic Wind Riders (AWR)** is a northern **sustainable development program** that uses **kite-skiing (parawing)** to inspire youth to connect with their land in a new way — gliding across snow, powered by the wind. Co-created **with and for Northern communities**, the program is designed to: • build youth autonomy and confidence on the land • develop technical skills and leadership • promote knowledge sharing and outdoor learning • support the local use of renewable energy • strengthen ties between sport, nature, and cultural identity AWR includes multiple components:**introductory camps**,**instructor training**, and **regional championships**. The program encourages the creation of **local clubs**, allowing communities to sustain the activity long-term while exploring opportunities for **community-led ecotourism**. Already active in several Northern villages, AWR adapts to each local context to foster **pride, resilience, and youth-driven leadership**.
