Ardesia Wine Bar

Ardesia, meaning slate, is located in Hell’s Kitchen in New York City and takes its influence from the neighborhood’s historic past and vibrant present. Our wine list incorporates both time-honored classics and lesser-known selections. We emphasize mineral-driven wines expressive of terrior from all around the world. Our menu was created by Chef Amorette Casaus and includes artisanal cheeses and house-made charcuterie along with wine and beer-friendly snacks such as house-cured duck banh mi and warm homemade pretzels with dipping sauces. Ardesia was designed by architects Mimi Madigan and Aki Ishida. Upon entry, there is a two-story “wall of wine” accessed by a steel and glass structure which evokes both the fire escape and theater catwalk intrinsic to our neighborhood’s identity. Our 14-seat bar features a marble bar top made of Paonazzo stone quarried from the canals of Venice. Next to the bar is a cozy lounge lined with plush banquettes. In the warm months we offer seating in our outdoor patio area. It is the perfect refuge from midtown crowds and a tranquil backdrop for an after-work or pre-theater glass of wine.
