Ethike areté (or moral excellence) is the concept at the heart of Aristotle’s Nichomachean Ethics. We believe areté captures well the nature and objective of a fully-functioning, effective compliance program. Achieving successful compliance program outcomes requires an organizational culture that values making the right choices for the right reasons; and connecting that culture with an operational understanding of what must be done by individuals across an organization to put cultural and compliance objectives into practice.
