Arizona Progress…….….It starts in your backyard Our mission is to provide information and services that enhance the capability of progressive groups and individuals in Arizona to recruit, organize, connect and act. Winning on progressive issues on a national level demands that we win locally in Arizona. The real fight for progress begins “in your backyard”. While Arizona’s two Senators and our extreme immigration bill highlight the state’s conservative leanings, Arizona’s recent history provides confidence that an Arizona progressive movement is emerging. 5 of our 8 U.S. Representatives are Democrats, and until 2009 Arizona had a Democratic Governor and still has a progressive Democrat leading the Attorney General’s office. As Arizona Progress began forming in 2009 our research of statewide communication and advocacy models led us to set aggressive goals to move a progressive agenda forward. With communication at the core of our mission, Arizona Progress has a keen understanding of how to earn media and maintain a robust presence throughout myriad “new media” sources.
