Games can reflect trends in society and can make us wiser about ourselves and the world around us. Games are social. Whether it's in Minecraft, Call of Duty, or World of Warcraft, games create connections between people and make interaction across time and space possible. The gaming industry is rapidly evolving. Games are a billion-dollar industry worldwide and a million-dollar industry in Denmark. Danish game developers release games played globally. New genres, forms, and themes are constantly being explored and invented. Arkaden approaches games critically and seriously because games should be taken seriously as cultural products. Arkaden also treats games entertainingly and surprisingly because games are also fun activity. Arkaden is independent of partisan and economic interests and is registered with the Press Council.
