Arkansas Heritage

The Division of Arkansas Heritage (DAH), founded in 1975, is devoted to safeguarding and promoting Arkansas's rich natural and cultural heritage. As a hub for eight divisions, including the Arkansas Arts Council, Historic Preservation Program, Natural Heritage Commission, State Archives, Delta Cultural Center, Historic Arkansas Museum, Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, and Old State House Museum, DAH plays a pivotal role in preserving the state's historical sites, promoting arts, and celebrating diverse cultures. Our mission extends from protecting historical and archaeological sites to fostering creativity and cultural understanding across the state. Whether it’s through preserving natural landscapes, showcasing frontier history, highlighting African American culture, or maintaining historical records, each division contributes uniquely to our collective goal. DAH has evolved since its inception, adding divisions like the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center and the Delta Cultural Center to broaden its scope.
