Arm & Arm is an evidence-based peer to peer behavioral health organization that empowers individuals during critical transition periods with tools that bring them into self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-sufficiency. We teach them to process trauma, manage stress, and live consciously during a lifelong journey of self-improvement. With the mastery and application of these methods, individuals go on to embrace and build strong and cohesive family units and communities, bringing strength to our region. We are a 501c 3 non-profit that provides holistic “mind-body” services to returning citizens, veterans, and those with substance use issues or mental health challenges as they re-enter society. Delivered during high-risk transition periods, our goal is to truly change individuals' views of themselves, their families and their communities. We accomplish this by addressing thinking, behavior, past trauma, and helping to improve resilience by using leading edge Cognitive and Somatic recovery techniques that can be self-sustained over time. The approach is peer-led to ensure engagement and provides ongoing support post-release to help members stay the course. We currently serve (Wards 7 and 8) in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) metropolitan areas.
