Artefactual Systems Inc. is a privately owned company incorporated in British Columbia, Canada. We provide commercial support for open-source software. We are experts in open-source, open-standard technologies for archival collections and digital preservation. The company was founded in and has been providing services since that time. Artefactual provides a comprehensive suite of software hosting subscription services, consulting, development, technical expertise, and enterprise support when offline, secure systems and data sovereignty issues are paramount. We are best known for developing and maintaining two open-source software tools, the Archivematica digital preservation system and the AtoM online access system. As free and open-source software tools, Archivematica and AtoM are used by both our clients and non-client institutions around the world. Artefactual has deep ties to the open-source and digital preservation communities and is a member of the Open Preservation Foundation and the Digital Preservation Coalition.
