Artisan Stitch

Artisan Stitch is a sewing school specialising in teaching professional sewing and dressmaking techniques, and Creative textiles. Founded in 2015 by Jen Skedd the company was originally based in East Lothian but moved to larger premises within Edinburgh city in January 2018. Jen is a degree-trained Textile Designer and Textile Artist. She learned to sew at age 7, and this has been her passion for her life. During that time she has studied pattern-making, tailoring and bridalwear. She now shares her experience and specialist techniques with her clients. Artisan Stitch is gaining a growing reputation for excellence in sewing tuition. The Beginners Sewing classes sell out months in advance and there is often a waiting list. Jen is also a passionate advocate for teaching children to sew, and holds summer schools every holiday and after-school clubs in sewing and creative arts and crafts. Group classes are available for adults or children, and Jen also tutors on a private one-to-one basis.
