Artooba connects art professionals with public places (hotels, bars, restaurants, night clubs, shopping malls, spas and beauty salons, hospitals, city halls, libraries, banks, offices) to showcase their artworks for sale on rotating basis. Artists face artificially high barriers to exposure due to entrenched institutional norms; specifically, many struggle to find trafficked exhibitions. Artooba also markets the artworks - past and present - through a curated online marketplace, which benefits from foot-traffic across all establishments. Meanwhile, small and mid-seized businesses increasingly seek to brand themselves as "local," looking to distinguish themselves from e-commerce disruption and to increase sales. The Artooba platform enhances the traditional gallery model and creates an open and equitable marketplace of a new kind. By doing so, we increase societal capacities to express ideas and to innovate for economic, civic, and individual benefits.
