Artsy Kidss

Artsy Kidss was born from a desire to fulfill a need in our world. Our goal is to create access to art for children, specifically in inner-city communities, where art is viewed as easily disposable and unnecessary. Our founder, Vanessa Rivera, is a practicing artist who discovered her talents in her 20’s, which made her wonder why art hadn’t been accessible to her throughout her upbringing. Artsy Kidss was founded in 2016 as a weekend workshop where kids were able to sign up for a step-by-step painting class. Soon after, we began offering private workshops for special events like birthday parties. Through these events we met teachers who connected us with schools to begin our after school programs. In just a few years we’ve grown to offer many programs such as after school classes, self-care workshops, school events and community events, most of which are free of charge. We’ve partnered with 10+ schools, and many corporate partners, including programs with the mayor's office. Our focus is to teach children how to use creativity as a form of self-care.
