Aspiring Scientists Coalition

Students in science tend to encounter many difficult and important decisions, though there are few available resources to help guide students through these challenges. The purpose of the Aspiring Scientists Coalition (ASC) is to provide free education, career-counseling and networking to students interested in science at all levels. ASC is free to join for students worldwide - by building a global community, we hope to enable students members to form international scientific networks. The Aspiring Scientists Coalition holds regular online meetings that alternate between Q&A sessions with experts in the field, networking sessions for members to connect, and research presentations from established scientists. These events connect student members with experts to enable them to learn from those with direct experience, build their scientific networks, and identify their passions and interests. We also plan to launch a Mentor-Mentee Program that will connect junior students with more experienced members to provide learning and teaching opportunities within the organization. The Aspiring Scientists Coalition hopes to create widely available resources to inform students in making major career decisions, and clarify the career possibilities within their scientific field of interest.
