Assameh - Birth & Beyond

ASSAMEH –Birth & Beyond, is a non-profit organization specialized in the rehabilitation of pediatric wards in governmental hospitals across Lebanon with the purpose to ensure deprived Lebanese children receive the level of medical care they deserve. Founded in February 2014 by Pr. Robert Sacy, a Pediatrician affiliated to many Hospitals along with a devoted team of volunteers; ASSAMEH- Birth & Beyond mission is to build, equip and run government hospitals which provide first class medical services to children and premature babies, at a fraction of the cost incurred in private hospitals. From this vision was launched in February 2016 at the Beirut Government hospital – Quarantina : “The Carlos Slim Center for Children”. Moreover, we were able to source and equip our pediatric ward with the latest and most advanced pediatric equipment: 8 incubators for the intensive care unit, 8 incubators for the intermediate care, 4 beds for pediatric intensive care and 12 beds for General pediatrics. From its launch in February 15, 2016 till today, ASSAMEH- Birth & Beyond team has already received and treated more than 2600 patients; The expectations are to treat over patients in 2020 Lebanese or refugees without distinction of color or race offering them equally a first-class medical treatment at the cost of a government hospital. We are also the only center in agreement with ministry of health which is actually giving specialized monthly therapy for all kind of metabolic diseases.
