Astronics Ballard Technology, Vertical Power

Astronics Ballard Technology owns the product line of electronic circuit breakers called Vertical Power, a company in the business of designing and producing Electronic Circuit Breakers for experimental and light sport aircraft among many other certified products for business, commercial, military applications. The company is applying advanced solid-state electronics to reduce wiring complexity, simplify wiring installation, reduce pilot workload, and enhance a pilot’s ability to respond to in-flight emergencies. Astronics Ballard Technology Vertical Power is the first company to develop Electronic Circuit Breakers for the non-certified aircraft market. The company is based in Everett, WA with customer support and OEM sales based in Oshkosh, WI and sells its products directly to OEM's and end users through select dealers. Vertical Power was founded in June 2006 and sold to Astronics in December 2013. Eight patents have been filed covering Vertical Power products.
