Ateliers Loire - Chartres

In Chartres, Capital of Stained Glass, workshops of 3 generations whose works are on the 5 continents. Created in 1946 by Gabriel Loire (1904-1996) for the realization of his own stained glass windows and mosaics, the workshops are now directed by Jacques, Hervé and Bruno (son and grandson of Gabriel). They perpetuate creativity and technical research while maintaining their know-how for traditional stained glass and glass slabs. With a team of about ten companions, the workshops can carry out very large projects in France and abroad. The workshops in the shadow of the Cathedral. In an exceptional setting 2 km from the Cathedral of Chartres, the workshops are developing over more than m² of buildings, each with their own specificity: glass slab, colouring, glass roof, cutting, but also offices and apartments to accommodate artists in residence.
