Athens Philharmonia Orchestra

Athens Philharmonia Orchestra is a new symphony orchestra founded in November 2016 with the aim of systematically engaging with modern Greek artistic creations. Philharmonia Orchestra performs, records and promotes music creations from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries from Greek composers. The orchestra's repertoire includes symphonies and vocal music (solo or choral) accompanied by orchestra and chamber music crations performed by smaller groups of musicians. The President of the Orchestra is Professor of Musicology at the University of Athens and Director of the Modern Greek Music Research Workshop, Mr. Nikos Maliaras. The Artistic Director of the Orchestra, is the internationally acclaimed conductor, well-known for his research in the field of Modern Greek Music, Mr. Vyron Fidetzis.
