Established in New Zealand in 1977, ATL began manufacturing WEST SYSTEM® epoxy under licence to Gougeon Brothers Inc (USA) for the Asia-Pacific region. By 1980, operations expanded into Australia, where ATL’s chemists and engineers pioneered a range of epoxy laminating and adhesive systems tailored to professional boatbuilding. In 1989, ATL’s Australian operation relocated to Queensland, which remains the company’s headquarters and centre of innovation. Today, WEST SYSTEM® is proudly manufactured by ATL in both New Zealand and Australia. Over more than four decades, ATL has evolved from a trusted marine supplier into a leader in engineered composite solutions, supporting industries that demand lighter, stronger, stiffer, and more durable structures — including defence, commercial marine, transportation, architectural, and industrial sectors.
