Atlantic Tree Improvement Council

The mission of AtlanTIC is to promote tree improvement programs such as collaborative breeding, field testing, resource sharing and research in Atlantic Canada and the economic and environmental benefits arising from them. We are a federally incorporated not-for-profit corporation with a member elected board of directors. AtlanTIC champions and supports the following activities: • Pan-Atlantic coordination of research trials, nurseries and germplasm collections • Development of long-term, strategic plan for tree improvement in the region • Promoting collaboration between researchers and optimization research infrastructure and equipment • Transfer and translation of new discoveries to members • Development of research and extension funding proposals • Nurturing collaborative partnerships for tree improvement in North America and Internationally
