Aureus Social Ventures Ltd (commonly known as Aureus) was set up in June 2013 by its Directors Nick Gandon, Nick Leiper, Duncan Stahl and Dave Taylor. It provides support to the charitable and not-for-profit sectors and to individuals wishing to achieve social good in sustainable, satisfying and effective ways. In particular we help charities, social enterprises, schools and businesses fulfill their potential, while working with individuals wanting to develop new and effective means by which to implement or advance their philanthropic activity. We also know how to utilise social and digital media to support fundraising and general communications. All of us at Aureus recognise that philanthropy has a major role to play in supporting good causes. Yet at the same time we recognise that the very best way of ensuring that good causes generate the financial support needed to drive their activities lies in developing new, sustainable sources of income. Social ventures capable of providing funds without the need to go cap in hand offer the most sustainable solution. At Aureus we work with organisations and with individuals looking at new and different ways by which to develop resources which will reduce reliance upon grants and donations.
