Aurora Science Communication

AURORA, science communication, is an initiative whose mission is to communicate, spread and appropriate geoscientific knowledge to society. For years we have seen how the scientific community has distanced itself from the community and this is partially due to the complicated technical language used by geoscientists who are continuously seeking to understand how the planet works and recognize natural hazards. We see an opportunity to help by creating a collective consciousness that will allow us to find solutions and alternatives to the eventual environmental and climate crisis that humans are facing. We plan to build this through geo-education of Earth Sciences, along with the interdisciplinary support of humanities, visual arts, technology, advertising and digital marketing of the fourth digital revolution. The interdependence of the different areas of the Earth system shows that each part (geosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere) of the system is important; however, the understanding of these dynamics must be approached from a "systems thinking" and see a whole as the sum of its parts. We look for readjustments in geosciences towards education for ecological and environmental sustainability.
