The creation of the Collie Clip stemmed from bulldog clips (typically used to hold documents) being used within surgical instrument sets and reprocessed through washer disinfectors and steam sterilizers. Although excellent office products, the bulldog clips were not designed for operating theatre use, therefore not “fit for purpose”. The Collie Clip was designed to overcome infection control and other issues caused by the use of bulldog clips in a surgical setting.
