Australia Asks
Australia Asks is looking to fill a gap in the ‘Local Voice’ of the Central Coast of NSW. Historically this would have been covered by local papers, radio and TV. With the purchase of the local Express the local news has slowly become less and local Radio is being purchased by Sydney stations. The loss of these mediums has impacted the short form news and current affairs but we have never had a long form medium on the coast and this has impacted on the identity of the Coast. Most Coasties are proud of their city (the 9th largest in Australia) but would say we lack an identity as we are consumed by Sydney and Newcastle. We believe there is a local identity but it does not have a voice and Australia Asks is designed to open an avenue for the local identity to show and for people to grow around. Australia Asks will start with a long format interview structure to allow for big local issues and people to have the time to discuss current issues and their vision for the future. There will be two interviews released a month with one being a national personality and the second being a local person from a local club or association. We are interviewing Central Coast people questions that you are asking!
