Authentic Revival Movement retrains the body’s stress response to help individuals feel more able to cope with stress in both their personal and public life, and to be their authentic self in their day to day life. Our mission is to push back on society’s rules to put on different personas, according to your location, career, culture, etc. These expectations are impossible to reach during life’s chaotic and traumatic moments. Trauma is experienced by everyone at some point in their life, but not everyone knows to label it as such. During those times our bodies respond to life’s stress in the same way that it would respond to a physical injury. The body is unable to tell the difference between a tiger attacking you or losing your keys before work. Regardless of the circumstances, your body will respond by providing you with physical symptoms that will negatively impact you during your day to day life. These symptoms will last between two hours to three days depending on the amount of stress that your body has endured throughout your life. However, we are not taught in our society to work through that stress. Instead, we are encouraged to endure and keep moving forward because, “everything is fine.” Is everything “fine” though? Do you ever feel like you are not growing? As if you do not feel refreshed in the morning or could be more fulfilled? When you get on a plane you are told to put your oxygen mask on first and then assist the person or child next to you because you cannot help others or be your best self if you do not take care of yourself first. When we own our authentic and true selves and make sure to meet our own needs and wants, we can feel closer to our fulfilled selves.
