Welcome to Auto Buying Service, started by Frank and Wanda Lewark in 1970. Their goal was to provide quality vehicles to the local residents. The same goals are true today, but a lot of change has taken place. Wanda Lewark has played a major role in the State Association for independent auto dealers. She has served her local district, the state association and the national association as an officer. Her goals have been to improve the reputation of independent used auto dealers and to exercise better rules and regulations to protect the customer from curb-stoners and unethical business practices by dealers or wholesalers. In 2003, Auto Buying Service was honored with the National Quality Dealer Award. Wanda Lewark was the first and still the only female to win this award. In 2005, Frank and Wanda's daughter, Betsy Briggs, rejoined the team as general manager. It's been an exciting time as the business saw extremes happening in the economy first with gas prices and then the recession.
