Women are not active citizens - especially in rural areas. What happens when a major chunk of the population doesn't form a part of active citizenry? Women’s opinions & priorities vary from men. Their engagement with the govt will differ. If they don’t get involved, they influence social equity negatively. We run change processes to get women engaged with local governance with our rubric of attitudes, knowledge & skills, 1) We engage women in dialogues & activities that center around civic values & engagement skills instead of bald civic knowledge. 2) Ease them into civic engagement with a structured process, a set of tools like scripts that they can follow when speaking to authority 3) Equip them with skills such as process mapping & information collection because for them, interacting with authority is an anxiety laden exercise. We create a safe space where they can hone these skills in a familiar setting, learn the attitude that "its okay not to know" & take their first steps towards making a difference as a community.
