Aviles Engineering Corporation (AEC) is a civil engineering firm that provides Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing and Inspection (CMT). AEC’s Geotechnical Engineering department is led by Shou Ting Hu, P.E. and Wilber Wang, P.E. with a total of 4 licensed geotechnical engineers, 1 E.I.T, 2 licensed geologists, and 8 field/laboratory technicians. As one of the most experienced Geotechnical Groups in Houston, AEC is responsible for the delivery of professional geotechnical services on numerous significant projects in the region. AEC’s Construction Materials Testing and Inspection (CMT) professional staff of Ronald E. Ortwerth, P.E, Shane Ressman, P.E, and Jonathan Howson, P.E. have a combined experience of over 75 years providing construction materials engineering, management and consultation and construction materials installation inspection and testing in the Houston metropolitan area. AEC’s Laboratory is accredited through A2LA to ISO 17025 Standards to the requirements of ASTM E329 and R-209. AEC has one of the largest scopes of A2LA accredited test procedures in the Greater Houston area. AEC is also accredited through AASHTO to R18 Standards to the requirements of ASTM E329 and accredited by TxDOT to provide Independent Assurance on TxDOT Design/Build Projects and Referee Testing. AEC is a certified as a Minority/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (M/DBE) with the City of Houston, and a HUB in the State of Texas.
