Introduction Natural Melanin lower cost. Avisa Myko Inc has developed an unique and extremely cost effective fermentation technology to produce Melanin ( The Black pigment in our Skin and Hair ). Melanin currently has few commercial applications because of the prohibitive cost (400 USD per gm) and supply constraints. Avisa Myko plans to break this vicious cycle of High cost and low usage by selling the melanin times lower. The company is working on developing various use cases for its Natural Melanin in Cosmetics, Pharma and Industrial applications including rechargeable Magnesium ion and sodium ion batteries Company has no competitors for its Black Eumelanin technology. First Beachhead Market As our first use case of melanin, we have been successful to produce a prototype of sunscreen with SPF 30 using melanin as a UV blocker and without using any existing chemical or Mineral UV blockers in the formulation. Problem we are solving for sunscreen use-case Chemicals and nano Minerals in the sunscreen are damaging the Corral Reefs and the Marine life they sustain. Toxicity of these chemicals on the human body and the marine ecosystem is also a cause of concern. USFDA has ordered a safety review chemical UV Blockers and has still not accorded GRASE (Generally regarded as Safe and Effective ) status to these ingredients. Customers and the 12 Billion dollar sunscreen Industry are looking for an environmentally friendly, reef safe, non toxic and effective UV blocking solution for sun screens. Melanin fits this gap perfectly. Our idea is to replace these UV blocking chemicals with Melanin as Melanin is biodegradable and non toxic.
