Avmotional Platform

AVmotional Platform produces, presents and promotes outstanding media artists and productions in the field of Audio-visual, Media, Performing and Interactive Art. The organization was founded in 2004, in Bucharest, by media artists Mihaela Kavdanska and Dilmana Yordanova. It has been one of the most articulated hypostases of contemporary urban culture in Romania. The first editions of the AVmotional Festival had a guiding role in recognizing, gathering and promoting the Romanian AV live performing scene, acting as a meeting point between the local and international artists. In it’s 10 years of activities, more than 60 events have been realised with the participation of over 100 invited artists from Romania, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, France, Italy, Slovenia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Austria, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Poland, Estonia, The Netherlands, Australia, United States, Japan and Indonesia. AVmotional have become a true platform for creation, production and promotion of projects located at the border between Art, Technology & Society. In the recent years, AVmotional developed close collaborations with artists from different fields as contemporary dance, electronic and acoustic contemporary music, etc, aimed to create a new trend on the Romanian Performing Art’ scene, where the interactive solutions come in support of motion to develop concepts and artistic visions. Among the recent creations are the intermedia dance performances "Bells and mechanisms" by Dilmana Yordanova, “Inner Dust” by Mihaela Kavdanska & Catalin Cretu,"4th Skin " by Mihaela Kavdanska, in collaboration with the Spanish choreographer & performer Dolma Jover Agullo, presented at Ars Electronica Festival, Linz in 2013 and National Museum of Contemporary Arts, Bucharest 2014.
