AVS Films into making of meaning cinema. The first film of AVS Films was 'Shibu O Rakkhosher Kaahini'(The story of Shibu & a Monster) based on a story written by Shri Satyajit Ray for children. This was a short film directed by Alina Banerjee Sharma. About the Writer & Director-Alina Banerjee Sharma A focused, passionate & creative person with an excellent ability to show a vision, story or a social issues as a film director. She is having more than 5 years of experience in film making. Graduated from the Calcutta University in English, started her career as a Six Sigma black belt professional, worked in quality assurance with different Multi-National Companies like HSBC, Microsoft & General Electric to name a few for more than 12 years. However, writing was always a passion from school days-Excellent observational skills to visualize the concept-Expert in all technical and production aspect of the film-Excellent capabilities to manage the set, team of actors, producers & staff-Skilled at completing the project on time. Achievements & Awards Directed a successful short film “Shibu O Rakkhosher Kahini” (The story of Shibu & a Monster) It was her debut directorial venture. The film was screened & acclaimed at various film festivals. Best Emerging Women Film Director Award - in the 4th Kolkata Shorts International Film Festival in August 2015. The name of the film is "ADHAAR-SHEELA"(The Identity Crisis). It is a short film of 25 minutes."ADHAAR-SHEELA" is an awe-inspiring tale of an elderly woman (Sheela Chadda) in her 70's fearing loss of identity for not having an important ID card. She feels lost but leaves no stone unturned to get the same in order to regain her identity. The story is inspired from the phenomenon of “population ageing” which has become a major concern in both developed and developing countries. The changing demographic profile has thrown many new challenges in the social, economic and political domains. Hence there is an emerging need to pay greater attention to “ageing related issues” and to promote “holistic policies & programs” for dealing with ageing society. So, this situation inspired me to make a film on the issue. The cast & crew of the film are renowned faces of Bollywood industry.
