Axle Contemporary was founded in 2010 by artists Matthew Chase-Daniel and Jerry Wellman, as a collaborative work of art, and an innovative vehicle for arts distribution. Axle Contemporary shows New Mexico based artists in thematically based exhibitions of works on paper, installation art, and performance art. Axle has grown beyond the confines of the mobile exhibition space, including forays into book publishing, web-based exhibits, public art work and other alternative venues for expanded and creative art exhibition
