Specialising in thermal engineering / heat transfer / thermal system modelling / system test and integration / thermal system design; in the aerospace and defence, and the space sectors. I have over 17 years experience within the aerospace and defence engineering sector, during which time my responsibilities have included System Design Authority for a Finnish Airforce radar upgrade, project leadership, work package management, design, analysis, and test disciplines. I particularly enjoyed developing knowledge-based engineering tools and processes, specifically with regard to the stressing in composite of the Airbus A380 vertical tail plane. I also worked on the development of mathematical algorithms for use in radar real-time processing, to help counter the effects of wind turbines on ATC radar returns. I won a BAE Systems CEO Innovation Award for the previously described "track extraction" algorithms. I worked on the electronic packaging and thermal management of "below decks" naval radar equipment. Systems Engineer on the Environmental Control System for Tornado military aircraft, with additional limited experience on the ECS for Jaguar, Eurofighter Typhoon, and Nimrod.
