Angelica Maria Ayar was born in San Francisco to immigrant parents from Mexico. While Angelica's parents worked double shifts to support her and her family, Angelica was raised by her grandmother, Elena. As a child, Angelica witnessed the difficulties her family experienced as undocumented immigrants and the divorce of her parents. Angelica vowed to help her community and with her native ability to speak both English and Spanish, she decided to become a lawyer and start her own practice, Ayar Law Offices.
