THE STORY OF AYLLU A symbol of our generation, Ayllu is an uplifting expression of Love, Luck and Unity. Originating from the traditional Peruvian greeting, Ayllu celebrates diversity to create a community that stands in solidarity. Each jewelry item is imbued with the power to transform and inspire. Growing up in a multicultural household granted Elena Castaneda – the founder of Bling Jewelry and designer of the AYLLU collection – firsthand experience how different values and traditions can come together to create something new and beautiful. Her German-American mother and Peruvian father met in a place that embodies this principle - New York City. Though they came from vastly different backgrounds, they learned how to embrace differences and celebrate as a family. CREATING THE DESIGN The AYLLU symbol embodies the coming together of different people, values and cultures to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its separate parts. The hearts represent the love shared with the important people in life. The infinity symbol reminds us that we are entwined in the global community forever. The clover brings good fortune and prosperity. THE SYMBOL OF A GENERATION Elena Castaneda was inspired to create a hand sign that would become the symbol of today’s generation, similar to the peace sign. Just like the hippies of a time gone by who rallied for peace and love, our generation will too, have a hand sign. But this time, the cause is bigger than only peace and love. There is so much beautiful diversity that exists in the world. So it is time, in the spirit of togetherness and tolerance, to embrace and celebrate that diversity.
