تأسس برنامج آزال للتمويل الصغير والأصغر الإسلامي (azal) في أكتوبر عام 2001، بالشراكة بين منظمة سول للتنمية (soul) والصندوق الاجتماعي للتنمية (sfd) بهدف الإسهام في الحد من الفقر. ويقدم هذا البرنامج فرصة متميزة للأفراد - خاصة النساء والشباب- من أجل إنشاء مشاريع مدرّة للدخل خاصة بهم وتطويرها. يعتبر البرنامج أداة هامة لتوسيع الفرص الاقتصادية لذوي الدخل المحدود، كما يهدف إلى دعم الأفراد الذين هم على استعدادٍ لإدارة المشاريع الصغيرة الخاصة بهم كأنشطةٍ مدرةٍ للدخل بهدف تحسين مستوى معيشتهم، من خلال تقديم خدمات تمويلية وفق أدوات التمويل الإسلامية.
