The foundations of this group were established in the year 1931 with a single, family run Baqar Mohebi food outlet, one of only fifteen shops in the original Dubai Souk. The Group was unique in its standards of customer service and innovative business practices which included multi-lingual management, fixed prices, customer credit, and forecasting customer requirements. These initiatives, along with the economic growth of the region, soon led to the expansion of the food and services business and made as one of the leading suppliers in this field. BME represents the group’s arm for marketing and distribution of FMCG, and continually develops and expands its core business. BME is currently serving over clients with SKU’s from over 30 multinational premium brands and is one of the leading suppliers in this field. BME has their own business units running in different countries like Oman, Qatar and UAE to meet the demands of their customers. BME’s operations are structured into four divisions: • FMCG • Catering (Institutional products) • Tobacco • Retail The sales and marketing department constitutes over 50% of the company’s manpower resources. In the FMCG division, distribution reaches all hypermarkets, supermarkets, wholesalers, and a large volume of B&C groceries while institutional products are to hotels, cafes, restaurants, bakeries, ship chandlers, and catering houses, airport and seaports throughout the market. The company has invested heavily in the state of the art computerized chilled and dry warehousing facilities with prompt and efficient door-to-door deliveries through its own fleet of vehicles, servicing the entire UAE, Oman, Qatar
