Baåkas [ बाकस ] is a multidisciplinary design company based in Ahmedabad addressing challenges in the fields of Branding & Communication Design, Space Design, Design Advisory, Personal Legacy[Museum] Space Design, and deriving & delivering solutions coherent to the national context. It is the brainchild of the Rana Brothers and is led by them and a team of experts spread across Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Jaipur & Bangalore. Baakas speaks the national design language integrating traditions to offer solutions that are relevant globally. With its team’s valuable experience in Visual Communication & Industrial Product Design, Baakas brings solutions that create aesthetically functional designs to satisfy three essential facets; human-centric design, dynamic to changing times and sustainability for continuous development: OTLO, an industrial concrete product brand of Baakas, moulds cultural aesthetics into functional designs for concrete furniture and product systems. The origin of the name OTLO [ओटलो] comes from the quintessential semi-outdoor informal place in a neighbourhood, It is a space that embarks conversations. The designs of OTLO create concrete products sometimes solid single and other times married to wood, metal and sometimes stones, to create concrete concepts that make spaces speak and speech natural conduct of environment. OTLO designs conceptualize concrete into an environment that triggers familiarity and a sense of belonging. Keeping functionality as its core, OTLO explores ways of weaving traditions into designs.
