Backpack Theatre

We are a young, socially aware and diverse company using a wide range of theatrical forms – from music to puppetry, from verbatim to clowning – to tell stories that aim to encourage audiences to develop their own opinions on current issues. Our projects are devised and heavily ensemble-based, drawing from the company’s multi-cultural and international background. While our shows have an important and urgent message to share, we think it is equally important to inspire our audiences by entertaining them with our unique mix of comedy, light-heartedness and silliness combined with rigorous research and compelling storytelling.
