Baie Du Cap Estates Limited

Founded in 1952, Baie du Cap Estates has seen several transformative developments, from starting as sugarcane estate to become the only calcarenite mine in Mauritius. In 1989 Baie du Cap Estates began its mining operations of calcarenite which till this day has provided calcium based products such as sand and landscaping granules to different stakeholders across the island. In 2010 sugarcane production was stopped giving way to extensive deer farming, palm tree and coconut tree plantations which is part of the company agri-business. As at 2017, Baie du Cap Estates has become the holding company of several business units. Macondé mining Ltd was the largest subsidiary producing Calcarenite but the functions of this company unit is now under Baie du Cap Estates Ltd.
