Bankoleart

Bankoleart is a contemporary urban art studio that documents history by depicting social and cultural issues using proverbs and folklore in ingenious multi-faceted forms. Danladi Kole Bako, the founder of Bankoleart was born in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Danladi's passion for arts was nurtured during his years in solitude at the outskirts of Lagos. His attention shifted fully to art in the year during which, he devoted himself to research and development of his unique technique. Danladi has since then been the subject of several solo and group exhibitions. His works are represented in the USA, Canada, India, Germany, South Africa and the UK. Bankoleart is essentially characterised by the creative use of talking drums for functional and aesthetic visual art expressions. His years of research inspired the artist into developing this particular art form called Bankoleart. Bankoleart is a re-awakening of our consciousness to the necessity of culture to our identity.
