BHFD serves to protect the lives and property of the citizens and visitors of the Town of Bar Harbor. We provide the following services to our community: • Fire suppression • Rescue operations, including vehicle extrication, ice rescue, and confined space rescue • Advanced life support emergency medical services and transport • Fire prevention • Fire inspections • Public education Our combination department is comprised of both full-time staff and call members operating out of a central station in downtown Bar Harbor and a substation located in Town Hill. Our apparatus fleet consists of 2 engine pumpers, 1 ladder truck, 1 tanker pumper, 3 ambulances, and a mass casualty response trailer.
