One day back in 2020 we looked in the mirror and realized how long it had been since our last haircut. We were looking a little barbaric. But taking the family to the salon or barbershop felt like an expedition. That’s when we came up with the idea for Barbare [barbare (n)/baʀbaʀ/: Barbarian]. Barbare connects stylists with people who want haircuts at home. We think it’s a better experience for everyone: haircuts for the whole family, on your own time, on your home turf. And for stylists, the freedom to decide when, where, and how you work. Nowadays, we’re all living a bit differently. We work from home and are settling into a new normal. And we think Barbare makes common sense. No need to wrestle the kids into the car. No need to brave the public and schlep to the barber on a Saturday. No need to be restricted to “regular business hours.” Just home haircuts where you are. With all the time you’ll save not venturing out to a hair appointment, you can finally focus on perfecting your Tarzan yell.
