We are a group of entrepreneurs, technologist, F&B operators and financier who came together to create a company to help F&B outlets and alcohol brands manage their inventory more efficiently as well as stay in the forefront of customer engagement. After multiple post work drinks, with bundles of whiskys, we realised that we don’t keep track of how much we consumed and most importantly, how much balance is left with the bars with a ‘bottlekeep’ programme. Wouldn’t it be great if we can keep track of our bottle balance and be reminded of expiry? With that idea, Barsociety was born. We created a unique Bottlekeep app which lets the bar send text notifications reminding customers of their bottle levels; useful for the bar to move inventory quicker, but also benefits the customers since low bottle levels increase the risk of oxidation that potentially ruins the spirit within. We also created a proprietary BarOS platform that helps bar managers perform inventory checks a lot more efficiently and can be done more often than laborious manual stocktaking, potentially helping to unearth discrepancies between actual and reported sales that hit a bar’s bottomline. After a steep learning curve, we began exploring several proof of concept work with major alcohol brands to digitize promotion mechanics as well as solve deeper logistics issue. Our B-intelligence platform now provides bespoke solutions to brands locally. With a lean but strong team, we have managed to scale to more than 100 outlets in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
