BASE is an Italian not-for profit association founded in 2021. The aim of the organization is to develop educational programmes for individuals and community. We believe in education as condition for self-development and as the most powerful tool for tackling poverty, exclusion and exploitation. Education is for us the strongest weapon to fight inequalities, to promote social cohesion and to create democratic partecipative spaces. Besides professional and educational skills, the objective is to provide citizens with tools to participate to the governance process, to raise awareness on power relations and subalterns self-condition. The BASE's approach starts from detailed need analysis, created through a partecipative anthropological study of individuals and social contexts that enable to design training programmes reducing risks and increasing results. The educational activities are mainly focused on social entrepreneurship, active citizenship, green education, social tourism, social inclusion of people with disabilities, migrants and drop out schools. The interventions target both young and adults citizens, with a particular attention to those that are at risk of social and economic exclusion. Staff with expertise in pedagogy and education is able to identify educational approaches and methodologies in order to find what best suits the characteristics of the target group. The association promote learning opportunities delivered through workshops, courses, projects, exchanges, transnational mobility but also online learning, virtual exchanges to offer young and adults a chance to develop wider cross-cutting skills as key for exploring new opportunities.
